These are the people who have registered in the Pixelate Games Competition, followed by a short description of what they hope to do:
| |
Bjørn Lindeijer(bjorn@nudus.myweb.nl) GAME STATUS: Complete
Bjorn describes his game idea:
"My idea is to program a pong variant (but maybe a breakout, as I like that more) using my particle engine. It will need the addition of collision rectangles and control of time, but I'm thinking about adding some other features too."
If you want to find out more about Bjorn's particle engine, you can read about it and download it in the 'competitions' section of Pixelate #3.

tom st denis(tomstdenis@yahoo.com) GAME STATUS: Unfinished
Tom is still trying to figure out what genre he'll be doing, and he claims that he can only spend about 10 hours on the game during the month. Will that be enough time for him to claim the top prize? Only time will tell...
| |
Barry Dahlberg(barryd@operamail.com) GAME STATUS: Unfinished
Barry writes:
"My idea is to create a series of simple board/puzzle games with emphasis on a good AI opponent..."
How AImbitious! But is he AIming to hAIgh? Will he fAIl to AIchieve his goal? Will I be prosecuted for the over-use of puns? Such is the drama of the PGC... ;)

| |
Daniel Harmon(dl_harmon@yahoo.com) GAME STATUS: Unfinished
Daniel has decided to stay tight-lipped about what he plans to do... Does he have a secret plan? An idea so good that he can't afford to tell anyone about it? Or has he simply not decided yet? Perhaps someday we will know... but for now, it remains a mystery.
| |
Lennart Steinke(lennart.steinke@uidesign.de) GAME STATUS: Complete
Lennart seems to know exactly what he plans to do. He describes his game idea, titled "Molecule", as a puzzle game based on molecule bindings. Sounds very interesting... One hopes that non-rocket-scientists such as myself will be able to play it ;)
| |
Dave Maranhao(davem2@ma.ultranet.com) GAME STATUS: Unfinished
Dave is trying to decide what genre he will do, but he says it is "most likely" that he will do a 2D shooter.
| |
Bogusz Komarzynski(vortex@topnet.pl) GAME STATUS: Complete
Bogusz says that he will probably do some sort of a retro game clone, because he likes retro games. He's thinking about something along the lines of a tetris clone...
| |
Tero Laitinen(tlaitinen@operamail.com) GAME STATUS: Unfinished
Tero says his game will be a sort of Sci-Fi/Fantasy "light" role-playing game. Good luck... hopefully we won't end up with a "Walk Around In An Empty Field" game ;)
| |
Corey Martin(stoney@trailforum.net) GAME STATUS: Unfinished
Corey writes:
"My project will basically be a spin-off on the game Smash-TV, an overhead action game where you blast through mutants and the likes for cash and prizes.. In any case it should end up being a crowded, fast paced action game, nothing too in depth, just focusing on the fundamentals here..."
| |
0xdeafbeef(?) GAME STATUS: Unfinished
0xdeafbeef(aka Gabhonga) has decided to stay very mysterious about the details... I don't even know his e-mail address ;)

Good luck to all who participate!
